Showing Off the Goose at Ralph Wayne's
Wow, I didn't realize how long it has been since my last post. Ben had to get on me about keeping this up to date.
Anyhoo, as a motorcycle enthusiast, I have been to many biker events in this country and others. (Don't miss an opportunity to ride a Swedish chopper near the Alps, but do check their brakes.)
So, I feel comfortable saying the Ralph Wayne's Vintage Back Yard Nationals is one of the coolest motorcycle events in the world. It may not be the biggest or most comprehensive display, but the energy of the people there make all of the difference. This vintage bike show/block party is literally centered around Ralph Wayne's backyard. Under a tent is an impressive selection of antique BSA's, ACE's, Triumph's, Harley's, Ariel's, Moto Guzzi's, etc.
Local businesses provide sponsorship to feed people for free. The whole neighborhood allows this event to fill the streets with vehicles and motorcycles.
I recently brought my 1974 Moto Guzzi Eldorado to Kansas City as I continue to move items there. Ben told me about this event, and I squeezed it in to my weekend schedule. WOW! I had a great time. Here's a poorly composed photo of me talking to one of Ben's friends about my Eldorado.
